It's 1942 when the Gentile's family bought the property from Florence's noblewemen to face the hard time of the war. The first name given to the cooperative was 'fattoria Gentile', it settles from the west hills dominating the Arezzo's valley to the Arno's banks. It's placed inside the Arno reserve and is sorrounded by a wilde nature and amazing landscape, it's already a WWF oasi and hunting reserve, in the valley lays the famous bridge of Buriano wich was an inspiration for Leonardo Da Vinci for some of his inventions and was painted in his masterpiece 'The Monnalisa'. Perfectly placed 7 Km from Arezzo on the road to Florence, it's only 10 Km fom the A1 highway exit. Moreover, since it's located in the middle of Italy, can make the best usage of the railroads and all the highways. At first the farm was organized as tenant farming committed to workers with the supervision of someone of the family, it has moved the interest to his actual production of wine and extra virgin oil keeping an eye on nature constantly planting young trees in the area.

The heart of the original Gentile's farm is today the Azienda Fornello, mantaining his history and traditions, renewing itself in a modern company it keeps his original vocation cultivating Sangiovese's grapes and producing an amazing Chianti with the DOC certificate, a quality wine with an unmistakable flavor and scents, and a beautifull oil rich of taste with bittersweet notes, extremely light and easy to digest. Due to the increasing needs of tourists to stay for more days, and with the will to contribute to the tourism in the area, we can lodge our guests in our 700's farmhouses. With the intent of preserving the quality over the quantity of our gathered resources, we are moving to protect and sustain the entire area promoting the biological farming wonderfull reality of the food made in Italy and principal goal of Tuscany.
